Founder's Story

IconIX, LLC and the IconIX Collective were born at the intersection of community, care, and courage.
As a clinical social worker in Minneapolis, I’ve spent years walking alongside people navigating trauma, injustice, and systems that weren’t built with everyone in mind. This work has shaped how I see the world. I believe that change actually happens through small, intentional actions grounded in compassion and a commitment to live our values each day.
Minnesota has taught me the value of resilience, the importance of collective responsibility, and the power of showing up for one another. Long winters, strong communities, deep ties to land and water are at the core of my identity, one that has inspired the spirit of IconIX. At IconIX, we value humanity and the environment and give back to causes that honor the principle of loving kindness.
IconIX is pronounced "iconics" with a strong sounding X. The roman numerals IX (9) are a subtle nod to Title IX, important US legislation giving equal opportunity in educational programs and legal protections, including on the basis of gender identity and sexual orientation. Our owl logo is a subtle statement of our commitment to nature and deep intuitive wisdom that we hope will guide us in making a truly meaningful impact.
I created IconIX as a way to bring those values into everyday life through apparel design. Creating clothing that feels calm, strong, and grounded. Apparel that reflects a belief in dignity, equity, and care for the planet we share and a commitment to our common humanity.
IconIX is informed by social work principles including equity, systems awareness, and empowerment. That means we don’t see fashion as separate from the world around us. What we wear, how it’s made, and where the profits go all matter to us.
Giving back is built into our model from the very beginning. A portion of our profits supports climate action and social-impact initiatives. We believe that caring for people also means caring for the environments and systems where they live.
IconIX is more than a brand. It’s a reflection of how we choose to show up. It's a statement of the power of our collective kindness, and a willingness to care for one another and our natural world.
